The scientific method establishes the true nature of the world around us “by making measurements that are valid, collecting that data in a rigorous way, analyzing it in an appropriate way, and then [making] small changes to try to establish cause and effect,” (Shaha, 2009). Thus, by learning science, we are able to gain the ability to question why, and think for ourselves to determine what information makes sense and seems reasonable.
